What to watch for

The clip shows an exchange between Judge Lina Hidalgo and Commissioner Lesley Briones over Flock. Watch how the speakers describe their past positions and the county’s surveillance decisions.

What the clip establishes

This is a record of what the speakers say in this exchange. A statement about the number of earlier votes needs the underlying agendas and vote records for independent verification.

The original vertical edit retains its burned-in captions. The cover illustration is a navigation aid, not evidence of a separate moment.

That's why the that's why the company's not here and that's why if the elected leader say you know I don't want to give the information I'll give it later that's just another excuse so so all I can do is advocate for the community that's the best that I can do but if you're certainly now you see me flip-flopping. Commissioner Briones. Well first of all you voted for Flock 15 times and you've never voted against it so if you want to go down memory lane. I acknowledge that already in my substructure post. Wonderful and now we have Commissioner Garcia and I know that the sheriff's office is almost finished with their updated policy and so I don't know if they have the ability to join us but I think it would be illuminating to for them to update us on where they are and where we're going but again this is not assumptions this is action has already been taken and I've made my position very clear in decommissioning and withdrawing from the contract. But what about the other contracts that we have that we can vote on what about those what about the fact that earlier none of you guys well we knew Commissioner Garcia had a had a contract but two members we I only found out by reading the the actual contract that three county commissioner precincts had agreements with Flock and that anybody in your guys's offices could it could offer it so when we're saying I'm gonna do the the bare minimum and I'm and I and I'm not gonna even talk about the majority of our contracts and I'm gonna do it right before election day when in June I forced this to be passed without any oversight I mean it anyway I think that that disrespects the intelligence of the voters
